What is H.pylori?

The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for 2005 was awarded jointly to Barry J. Marshall and J. Robin Warren for their discovery of "the bacterium Helicobacter Pylori and its role in gastritis and peptic ulcer disease". Helicobacter Pylori is, so far, the only bacterium found in the stomach of mammals.

Helicobacter Pylori (H. Pylori) is a Gram-negative, microaerophilli baterium in the stomach. It is the primary cause of gastritis, peptic ulcer disease and MALT. WHO identified H.Pylori as Class I Carcinogen of gastric cancer. Nearly 50% of the world's population have H.Pylori in their upper gastrointestinal tract

Principle of 14C-Urea Breath Test1. The 14C-Urea Breath Test is based on the detection of the enzyme urease, produced by H. pylori. Since urease is not present in normal human tissues, and since other urease-producing bacteria do not colonize the stomach, the presence of urease in the stomach can be equated with H. pylori infection.2. In the presence of urease, orally administered 14C-Urea will be hydrolyzed into ammonia and 14CO2. 14CO2 is absorbed into the blood circulation and exhaled by the lung. The presence of a significant amount of 14CO2 in the exhaled breath indicates active H.pylori infection.Operating procedures of 14C Urea Breath Testwe provides a simple and clean solution for you and your family to protect stomach. Exemption Regulation

Exemption from Regulation by U.S In 1997, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission of USA permitted diagnostic use of capsules 14C containing 1µci of C-urea without a license. Any physician can operate the urea breath test for diagnosis in the office.

Exemption from Regulation by China On May 2002, the urea breath test with 0.75μci 14C-urea capsule was granted the exemption from regulation for internal diagnostic by the Ministry of Environmental Protection of China. Product Highlight
